Job Title: Loading and Unloading Officer

Location: Gwer Road

Department: Operations

Reports To: Warehouse Manager

Working Hours: Saturday to Thursday, 8 hours a day

Job Summary:

The Loading and Unloading Officer is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of goods entering and leaving the warehouse. This role ensures that all loading and unloading operations are conducted following safety standards, while minimizing damage and ensuring timely movement of goods. The officer plays a key part in supporting logistics and maintaining operational flow within the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments according to delivery schedules.
• Verify the quantity and condition of items during loading/unloading and report any damage or discrepancy.
• Use manual handling equipment, trolleys, or forklifts (if licensed) to move heavy or bulky items.
• Ensure goods are stacked, secured, and protected properly during loading to prevent movement or damage in transit.
• Coordinate with the inventory team to confirm receipt and dispatch of items.
• Follow proper handling procedures for fragile, hazardous, or temperature-sensitive items.
• Maintain a clean and safe loading/unloading area, free of obstacles or safety hazards.
• Work with the warehouse supervisor to prioritize urgent deliveries and loading schedules.
• Record loading and unloading activities in logs or digital systems as required.
• Assist with packing, labelling, and securing goods prior to shipment when needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Experience in warehouse or logistics roles involving material handling.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items safely.
• Knowledge of basic safety and manual handling procedures.
• Good physical condition and attention to detail.
• Forklift license is a plus (if applicable for the role).
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team-oriented environment.
