Job Title: Inspector (OHSA/HSE) Occupational Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Inspector

Location: Gwer Road

Department: Operations

Reports To: Warehouse Manager

Working Hours: Saturday to Thursday, 8 hours a day

Job Summary:

The HSE Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all warehouse operations comply with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations. This role conducts inspections, enforces safety standards, and works closely with management to create a safe working environment, reduce risk, and promote health and safety awareness across all teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse to ensure compliance with OHSA and local HSE regulations.
• Identify hazards and unsafe practices, and take corrective action to mitigate risk.
• Monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure availability and correct usage.
• Maintain safety documentation including risk assessments, incident logs, and inspection reports.
• Lead investigations into workplace incidents or accidents and produce reports with recommendations.
• Conduct fire drills, emergency preparedness sessions, and safety briefings.
• Ensure machinery, equipment, and electrical systems are compliant with safety standards.
• Provide training and awareness to staff on health and safety procedures.
• Liaise with external auditors, inspectors, or local authorities regarding HSE matters.
• Recommend improvements to warehouse design or workflow to enhance safety.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Certification or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in HSE-related roles, preferably in warehouse or logistics settings.
• Knowledge of national and international safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to train others.
• Attention to detail and strong documentation abilities.
• Incident investigation experience is a plus.
