Job Title: Data Officer

Working Days: Saturday - Thursday
Working Time: 09 AM - 05 PM
Job Summary:
The Data Officer is responsible for collecting, managing, analyzing, and ensuring the security of company data. They support decision-making by maintaining accurate databases and generating insightful reports. The role also involves data quality assurance, compliance with data protection regulations, and collaboration with different departments to optimize data usage.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Designing Innovative Data Solutions
- Lead the engagement with new and existing data collection cycles, identifying opportunities to enhance data quality and increase strategic use of data.
- Automate data cleaning and validation processes, ensuring consistency and accuracy across BIM - related data.
- Develop automated workflows for data analysis to reduce time between collection and reporting.
- Create technical solutions and processes to maximize the impact of data within the project framework.
- Support the development of early warning systems and data analysis frameworks to prioritize needs.
2) Assessment Support
- Collaborate with teams on the design and implementation of data collection methodologies, including work plans, work orders, data analysis plans.
- Ensure the confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity of data throughout the project.
- Manage data analysis following internal guidelines and frameworks.
- Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key data insights.
- 3) Technical Support
- Provide technical assistance on data analysis packages developed by headquarters.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot data processing and scripting issues.
- Deliver training sessions on statistical analysis and programming to build capacity within the team.
- Identify data-related needs proactively and address them to enhance project outcomes.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar.
- Experience and Skills:
- Advanced experience in data analysis using R/Python/Excel Programming.
- At least 2 year of relevant experience in a humanitarian or development setting.
- Strong analytical abilities to identify trends, outliers, and insights in data.
- Proficiency in Excel and advanced database management skills.
- Experience managing large datasets and conducting trend analyses.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Skills:
- Excellent use of excel and excel programming
- Experience in writing R packages and other statistical programming languages is preferable
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (QGIS, ArcGIS) and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of Tableau and experience with Kobo/ODK or similar mobile data collection tools.
